President
Shayne is the current President and co-owner of KSM Inc. Over the years he has worked as the Shop Manager, Production & General Manager, and Purchasing Manager. He is an Alberta Journeyman Welder and Level 1 Welding Inspector. Shayne has over 25 years of experience in the Canadian Oil & Gas industry.
VP Sales and Design
Brian is a co-owner and present VP Sales and Design at KSM Inc. He began working on drilling rigs in Alberta after graduating high school. He worked rigs in western Canada for 10 years. In 1989 Brian left the field after some post-secondary education, and began working in the engineering department at Dreco where he worked in design, engineering, and later branched into sales and marketing.
After Dreco, Brian worked as a designer for Ja-Co Welding where he led the drafting department. Brian also worked in mechanical systems design and technical sales with some other manufacturers in the Nisku Industrial park. In early 2001, Brian began work for KSM as designer and sales, and moved up to Shop Manager in 2003.
VP Operations
George is a co-owner and VP Operations. He is a Licensed Mech. Engineer. in the Philippines, and an Alberta Journeyman Millwright. He has over 40 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including 9 years at the Philippine National Oil Company, 5 years at Yanbu Commercial Port in Saudi Arabia, 7 years at National Oil Wells in Libya, and now over 20 years at KSM Inc. George has overseen diagnosis and field work on rigs in Canada, USA, Libya, and Russia.
VP Finance
Dan was born and raised in Edmonton completing a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1987. Dan articled with KPMG becoming a chartered accountant in 1991.
Dan has 25 years of public accounting experience during which he gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of the life cycle of Alberta business with a focus on owner-managed business, accounting and income tax.
Dan remains actively involved in a number of local organizations. Dan’s 3,500 hours of community service include Treasurer of the Greater Edmonton Home Builders Association, Vice President Finance Sherwood Park Minor Hockey, Director Sherwood Park Titans Minor Lacrosse Association, Junior Achievement of Alberta and most recently President Sherwood Park Major Junior Lacrosse Association. Dan has also coached hockey, lacrosse as well as boys and girls basketball over the past 20 years in Sherwood Park.
Dan and his wife of 28 years Tracey are animal lovers and currently share their home with 2 rescued cats. Dan and Tracey have 3 children.
Quality Assurance
Scott was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta 3rd generation of an Oil Pioneering Family.
In 1994 following the family legacy of working within Alberta Oil & Gas he started his apprenticeship with GeoSearch Drilling at the age of 18 and followed through to fulfill Trade designations as both Red Seal Journeyman Millwright and Heavy Duty Mechanic.
The opportunity presented itself to glean knowledge within multiple sectors of both Upstream and Down Stream Oil & Gas in Production/Service & Repair/Manufacturing & Reclamation, including Forestry, Transportation, and Utilities; Scott specialized in the Rotating equipment with value-added expertise in Low/High-Speed Dynamic Balancing, Failure Analysis, and Vibration Analysis. These experiences led to his “Quality vs. Quantity” mantra; and to further obtain certifications as an ISO 9001:2015 QMS – Internal Auditor and CSA 47.1 Structural steel – Welding Inspector & Supervisor. He strives to employ a systematic approach within his capacity as Quality Assurance Manager; using risk-based thinking to assess, identify and qualify challenges early on to ensure our interested parties are all taken care of. Scott sat as Chair and Member to various non-profit initiatives that have enhanced his life and those around him, and when not working he enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors and the many pursuits it offers.

Office Manager
Kristi is the Office and Accounts Manager for KSM. She graduated from the Grant McEwan Accounting Program. Kristi began her career working with Dan St. Arnaud, CA. She has more than 22 years’ experience working in the Industry.
Kristi and her husband Shayne have been married for 21 years and have 2 children together.
parts & Design consultant
Brian is an Alberta Journeyman Welder with over 46 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Of those nearly 50 years, 25 were spent at Kremco, a division of National Oilwell Varco in design and production management.
Purchaser & Safety Advisor
Jason came to KSM in 2012, with more than 20 years’ experience in the DC electrical field. He started in the shop, concentrating on DC electrical on both new builds and older retrofits. In late 2013, Jason was moved into the role of purchaser. In 2015, after extensive Health and Safety training, Jason took on the additional role of Safety Advisor. Through these roles, Jason has acquired a good working knowledge of KSM parts and products as well as operations from both a production and safety stand point.
Drafting Design & Inspection Coordinator
Rob has worked within the oil and gas industry in a number of different capacities. He started in oilfield maintenance and production related pipe fitting. Rob became educated in drafting in 1993 and upon completion worked for many years as a designer draftsman in the downhole drilling tool industry. Rob joined the KSM team in 2011.
Welding Foreman
Daryk has been a part of the KSM team since 2004, and Welding Lead since 2006. He is an Alberta Journeyman Red Seal Welder as well as a CWB W47.1 Welding Supervisor.
Sales
David brings to the table a multifarious set of acumens within a diverse range of multidisciplinary settings. His expertise in the strategic and tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment and services is emphasized by his proven ability to streamline processes, implement methodologies and improve business performance. His high degree of self-confidence in utilizing various sales methodologies results in a generation of consensus and promotion of values in all aspects of sales.
Parts & Shipping - Receiving
Brad started as a Roughneck on a drilling rig, and moved up to Motor Hand during his 4 years in the field. In 2013 he came to KSM as head of the Parts Department, as well as Shipping-Receiving. He is knowledgeable in aspects of all KSM and Kremco products and along with the rest of the KSM team, can get you the parts and service you require.
